LIP ENHANCEMENT

Dermal filler treatments are small facial injections, carefully administered in designated areas with a safe substance called Hyaluronic Acid, which naturally found within the human body.

This is personal choice and the desired goals you wish to achieve for your lips will be discussed at consultation. 

The procedure itself is quick, approximately 30 minutes. An in depth consultation will have already been completed prior to your treatment day. 

As we age skin cells divide more slowly and inner skin starts to become thin. Fat cells in the lip tissue weaken whilst the network of collagen and elastin fibres decrease elasticity. As we get older the skin looses the ability to retain moisture, hyaluronic acid injections attract and binds water in the lips, providing a full, hydrated and voluminous look. 

The effects are rapid and visible instantly.

Due to a person's individual anatomy, structure and fragility of lips - treatment may be provided in more than one sitting.  It is worth knowing that lip enhancement treatment is a commitment, and repeat treatment is recommended between 6-12 weeks following your first treatment to maintain results and assess whether your desired outcome has been achieved. Results commonly last for up to 6-9 months.

Mild side effects usually happen at the time of the treatment and can include, bruising and swelling of the lips, this is temporary and will resolve within a couple of days.

Serious side effects are rare, but include allergy or infection or a vascular occlusion, however hyaluronic acid can be dissolved should this occur.  I always ensure you are suitably informed through your specialist consultation of risks and benefits before treatment is carried out.  

Most people are suitable for dermal fillers. They are often used to enhance definition of the outer border of the lip, create volume and structure, correct asymmetry and add moisture. Your needs and suitability for the treatment will be extensively discussed at your consultation.
